Like a cicada nymph emerging from the ground, I finally breached the Sign Up screen!
Hello!
I am an artist, illustrator and animator who's trying to make it in life! I recently finished studying animation, and my plan for the next 2-3 years is to really give my all, and try to make a living as an artist. I have many ideas and things to learn, but I want to start streaming again, and eventually sell merch and art online!
That being said, I want this blog to be a bit more private. Not necessarily unrelated to my main ones, but definitely on the side. Like a behind the scene, maybe. This blog is meant for me to write my thoughts out of my head without having to worry about expectations and disappointing people if I don't follow up on an idea I shared. I am here to ramble, have fun, brain storm and be creative!
But I have a lot to learn. I never understood nor really used websites built like this one; livejournal confused me and I had other options, so I never bothered. I dont know how to navigate around here and I'm not used to journaling neither. I've always been more about drawing than writing anyway. Who am I supposed to adress this post to? Who's reading this? Strangers? My friends? Hey Hocus! š
Still, the look of it all is familiar in a nostalgic way that I appreciate. The fact that I'm joining friends on here is definitely encouraging too. Hocus even made me a very helpful guide, I am so grateful for it! š„ŗ

and the thing i really liked about DW is that it does feel like i'm just shouting into a void lol. but like that really feels like a good thing to me, like there really is less pressure to try to curtail my thoughts/opinions or even try to cut things short like there is on twitter.
anyway, you can address whoever you want with these posts! it can be like a regular diary/journal, like not really addressing anyone but just getting your thoughts out. since i mostly use mine for recs/fic stuff i tend write with the expectation that anyone i share those posts with will be reading, but like when i review movies/books it's just rambling tbh. there's no pressure there tho, so just go with what feels right to you!
but also, lmk if you have more questions about DW c: navigation for the site itself is all on the mainpage, from that top bar (and tbh there's not much beyond just posting lol), but if u mean specifically finding other blogs, that'll be from search & interest search. like here: V made a community for Evil West >>
